This webinar gave our faculty and students an opportunity to take a look at problems from a completely different perspective. Ms. Deepika Guptaspoke at length on the subject of ideation and design thinking with real time examples which made faculty and students curious and kept them engaged. She also discussed the psychological aspects of the critical thinking. She explained that it is that designers work processes which can help us systematically extract, teach, learn and apply these human-centered techniques to solve problems in a creative and innovative way – in our designs, in our businesses, in our countries, in our lives.

CENTRAL INSTRUMENTATION FACILITY

The Central Instrumentation Facility of Sri Venkateswara Engineering College houses a vast range of higher-end appliances for propelling the limitations of research in science and technology to an outstanding level. These appliances and facilities help the faculties, research scholars and students to accomplish globally recreational research in basic, applied and medical sciences.

The Centre for Research also strives for extension of the facilities each year giving rise to it a core facility in the country. By appreciating CIF we foresee a distinguished hub for initiating and collective logical research in our country. CIF runs under the purview of the Division of Research and Development of the university and is required to be self-serving by revenue generation for the upcoming and sustenance of the appliances.

E-Yantra Robtics Lab:

E-Yantra Project is an initiative by IIT Bombay that aims to create the next generation of embedded systems engineers with a practical outlook to help provide practical solutions to some of the real world problems. The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) sponsors E-Yantra under the National Mission for ICT in Education (NMEICT) program. We have taken an initiative to setup e-Yantra Robotics Lab under e-Yantra Lab Set-up Initiative (eLSI) by IIT Bombay. SBPCOE e-Yantra Robotics Lab trains the students in embedded systems and microcontroller programming by engaging them through the Project Based Learning (PBL) model.

FACULTY RESEARCH SCHOLARS

SVEC Faculty received their doctorate degrees(Ph.D) from different universities for their excellency in various Engineering Disciplines.

STUDENT PROJECTS

Automatic Hand Sanitizer Dispenser

  • Dispensing of sanitizer from bottle and storage would require manual intervention.
  • A Novel design of Hands Free Sanitizer Dispenser has been modelled to minimize the risk due to contact.
  • The system can comprises of Ultrasonic sensor, Microcontroller 8951, Solenoid valve with pump.

Contactless Thermal Scanner

  • Sensing body temperature continuously to monitor the corona patient status without making physical contact.
  • It is a manless operation process with infrared touchless Thermal scanner which covers a distance of a feet.
  • If the temperature is above the normal range a buzzer will blow along with the display and helps the tester to know about the temperature status.

UV-C Disinfection System

  • The students of SVEC developed a prototype at low cost on UV - C Disinfection System which support the society very well to be disinfected from germs.
  • The project involves multiple techniques like IOT integrated with electronics equipment and components.

Solar Operated Sanitizer/Disinfectant Sprayer

  • A solar operated sanitizer / disinfectant sprayer has been developed by SVEC students.
  • The model is portable and uses sprinkler mechanism with mixing air and disinfectant fluid.
  • The unit has been installed in the campus and was utilized effectively.

Web-based Dashboard development for COVID-19 infections

  • A user friendly Web based Interactive Dashboard has been developed by the Students of SVEC to track and identify the status on COVID - 19 with statistical reports such as : Active cases, Deaths and Recoveries.
